Pisanki

This Easter I made traditional Polish pisanki (they're also known in the US as Ukrainian pysanky).  I've never made them before so I picked a few simple designs to start with and then a couple slightly more complex ones (nothing crazy).  Here were the results of the 5 I managed to make over the weekend.

The first 5 pisanki I've ever made

Here is the reverse of the egg in the front row:
Ode to Lola.

She was quite pleased with her egg, though I don't think she was too pleased with the amount of time I spent working on it and not playing with her. Here are some photos of the egg during its creation:

The corgi egg after the yellow and orange dye baths. I've already added the next layer of wax before and am about to place the egg into the scarlet dye.
The corgi egg after it's been dyed and dried but before I've removed all the beeswax.  Someone's a messy corgi!
